How does it work?
Just add water before you ride, allow it to soak. While you ride, the water slowly evaporates and creates a cooling effect on your hands.
How long does it last?
It can last hours – hotter outside temperatures and more wind increases evaporation – just splash on water from your water bottle to top-it-up.
How is it different to normal bar tape
You wrap it exactly same way, it has grip and is comfortable (damping), it also cools your hands as you ride.
Why do I need cool hands?
Increased comfort. This article outlines the physiological and psychological advantages of cooling in sport.
Can I use it in winter?
The Glacier Tape is suited to warmer riding conditions and racing as well as indoor cycling. When it is dry it will not cool so can continue to be used when wearing gloves.
What happens when it dries out?
If you are not riding, you can let the tape dry out – it will naturally loose its softness when dry. When you want to ride, add water and so that it soaks completely.
