A story of innovation with pro triathletes
During the past two years, at Ultra Cool Tech we have been testing a new solution for triathletes: a system designed to cool the bike cockpit. Our testing hypothesis was simple. Optimizing the body’s natural cooling process depends on many factors, but one critical element is the amount of skin surface that is actively cooled. Based on this principle, actively cooling the forearms made a lot of sense. Not only is the skin surface large enough, but it also targets an area that often overheats because it remains in contact with the cockpit for long periods during a race.
Based on these premises, we developed a prototype for a small group of professional triathletes. In 2024, Patrick Lange and Sam Laidlow tested the first prototype, designed in collaboration with Ergon and Canyon, at the Ironman World Championships in Kona. The feedback was very positive, which encouraged our design team to continue refining and improving the concept.
A second round of testing was carried out with Lucy Charles-Barclay a year later, in collaboration with Cube. The feedback on the active cooling solution was also very encouraging and helped us refine the final details. In addition, we received many requests from customers and followers asking for a similar solution. Some of you even created homemade cooling setups using our Glacier Tape!

Following these requests, and building on the feedback from our prototype testers, we decided to develop a customer-ready version of the active cooling solution: the Glacier TT Cockpit Cooling Kit.
This kit includes everything you need to create your own active cooling setup for your cockpit. It incorporates several proprietary technologies, some of these developed exclusively for this product.
